Over 100 Million copies sold yearly

The Bible is translated into 690 languages (I didn't even know there were that many languages!)

The longest verse in the Bible is Esther 8:9

Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language. Eshter 8:9

Another fact about the book of Esther.

The only book God is never mentioned in the book of Esther.

The shortest verse in the Bible is John 11:35

“Jesus wept.”

“Mahershalalhashbaz" is the longest word in the Bible.

Found in Isaiah 8:3, “Mahershalalhashbaz” is the longest word in the Bible. The word Mahershalalhashbaz means “Swift is the Spoils, Speedy is the Plunder.” The prophet Isaiah named his second son  Mahershalalhashbaz.

And I went unto the prophetess, and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz. Isaiah 8:3

Side lesson: According to the Bible Society in Israel, there are approximately 50 Bibles sold every minute throughout the world Quick Tips About Reading the Bible When a preacher or teacher says, “Please turn in your Bibles to Acts 2:38,” we understand that:

Acts is the name of the book you would turn to “2” means to look for the second chapter

“38” is the verse that will be read from the second chapter Let’s take some time to turn in our Bibles to Acts 2:38 and read it.

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” —Acts 2:38 KJV

When you first get a Bible, it looks like a huge book that will take forever to read.

However, there are one-year Bible reading programs available to help you read through the entire Bible in a year, taking less than 10 minutes each day. Think about it: you could read the entire Bible twice each year with just 20 minutes of reading! In fact, many smartphones and tablets now have Bible reading programs that will send you a daily notification to remind you to read each day. If you do not have time to sit and read, the apps will oftentimes read the Bible to you as you continue throughout your day. Just think where you would be relational and spiritually if you read your bible even once in a year. I'm preaching to the choir here!

The Bible is grouped into five classifications.

The Holy Bible is a collection of Historical Books, Poetical Books, Prophetic Books, Epistles (writing directed or sent to a person or group of people), and Gospels.

The Bible has 17 historical books. Here are the 17 historical books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Esther. These books establish the historical events of the

Old Testament.

The Bible has 5 poetical books. The 5 poetical books of the Bible are Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. These books are often dubbed as humanity’s reach towards God for

The Bible has 17 prophetic books. Here are the 17 prophetic books of the Bible: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. These books were all written by the minor prophets of the Bible.

The Bible has 4 Gospels. Here are the 4 Gospels of the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Moreover, the term “Gos” comes from the Old English god meaning “good” and “Spel” which means “News.” In Christianity, the word “Good News” refers to Jesus’  birth, death, sacrifice, and resurrection as part of saving His beloved people.

The Bible has 21 Epistles. Here are the 21 Epistles of the Bible: Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and Jude. These books are all attributed to the apostle Paul, although some dispute whether he wrote all 13.

William Tyndale is the first man to print the Bible in the English version. Since the Catholic Church believes that translating the Bible from Latin to English can lead to misinterpretations, William Tyndale was executed by strangulation and burned for producing the first printed edited version of the New Testament. Say what?

King Henry VIII ordered that churches must read the Bible aloud during its services. The Great Bible of 1539 is the first official Bible printed in English. From then on, King Henry VIII of England ordered that the Bible should be read aloud during the church services in all Churches of England. Go, King Henry!

How Many Words Are Spoken By Women In The Bible?. There are 93 women who speak in the Bible, 49 of who are named. These women speak a total of 14,056 words collectively That is only roughly 1.1 percent of the total words. I guess! Corinthians 14:34-35 wasn't a joke. Eve and I are going to have a heavenly chat one day!?

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35

The Bible shows historical accuracy.

While authors and disciples were writing the New Testament, many historians wrote about the same events the way it was written in the Bible. For instance, Flavius Josephus, Tacitus, and many other historians corroborate the historical accuracy of the New Testament in their works. Well, duh!

The world's most "stolen book" is the Bible. Read that again!!! Because most copies are offered in hotels, hospitals, and other places, some people tend to take it. No wonder why more than 100 million copies are printed each year.

Swearing on the Bible is a typical practice in court, I knew this. It's also ironic politicians are sworn in on a Bible too! However, that practice is a total contradiction of Matthew 5:33-37.

“You have also heard that people were told in the past, ‘Do not break your promise, but do what you have vowed to the Lord to do.’ But now I tell you: do not use any vow when you make a promise. Do not swear by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by earth, for it is the resting place for his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Do not even swear by your head, because you cannot make a single hair white or black. Just say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’—anything else you say comes from the Evil One. Matthew 5:33-37

Who knew, did you? I didn't until now! Say what, I am almost 43 and grew up in the church.

There are free "Bible parachutes" in North Korea.

and we can just buy them or grab one to go even at the unholiest of places Wal-mart! Some concerned organizations “illegally” parachute the Bibles into North Korea. However, when authorities spot it, they shoot down each balloon and arrest the locals who will pick up the book. The government tells their citizens that these balloons are filled with poison – although some locals would still take their chances to secure a copy.

'Amen' is the Last word of the Bible, say what? The Book of Revelation is the last one in the Bible.  It has 22 chapters and it ends in verse 21.

“18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.”

A little side note my editing program wants to change "be" to the proper term which is the word "is" it's t interesting that that last scripture would be "the grace of the Lord Jesus is with you. Hmmm... Sounds good to me.

Now that you have some facts that you may not have known, please share so others can know too.
